Gonzalo Pizarro
Gonzalo Pizarro was a Spanish conquistador born around 1502 in Trujillo, Spain. He is best known for his role in the conquest of the Inca Empire in the early 16th century. Pizarro was a half-brother of Francisco Pizarro, the leader of the expedition that ultimately led to the fall of the Incas. Gonzalo played a significant part in the exploration and colonization of Peru.
After the conquest, Gonzalo Pizarro became a prominent figure in the region, serving as the governor of New Castile. He led several expeditions into the interior of South America, seeking wealth and land. However, his ambitions led to conflicts with other Spanish settlers and the crown, resulting in his eventual downfall and execution in 1548.
