Gobind Sagar Lake
Gobind Sagar Lake is an artificial reservoir located in the Bilaspur district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It was created in 1966 by the construction of the Bhakra Dam on the Sutlej River. The lake covers an area of approximately 168 square kilometers and serves multiple purposes, including irrigation, hydroelectric power generation, and flood control.
The lake is named after Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, and is surrounded by picturesque hills and forests. It is a popular destination for water sports, fishing, and boating, attracting both tourists and locals. The area also supports diverse wildlife, making it an important ecological zone.
