George Villiers
George Villiers, 1st Duke of Buckingham, was an English courtier and politician born in 1592. He became a favorite of King James I and was known for his charm and influence at court. Villiers was appointed to several important positions, including the Lord High Admiral, and played a significant role in the politics of his time.
Villiers was also a prominent figure during the reign of Charles I, who succeeded James I. His close relationship with the king allowed him to amass wealth and power, but it also led to political rivalries. He was assassinated in 1628, marking a dramatic end to his controversial life.
