George I of Saxe-Meiningen
George I of Saxe-Meiningen was a German duke who ruled from 1681 until his death in 1706. He was the founder of the Saxe-Meiningen line of the House of Wettin. His reign is noted for the establishment of a strong and efficient administration in his duchy.
