Geoffrey II, Duke of Brittany
Geoffrey II, Duke of Brittany was born in 1158 and was the son of Henry II of England and Eleanor of Aquitaine. He became Duke of Brittany in 1186 after the death of his brother, Conan IV. Geoffrey was known for his political alliances and efforts to strengthen Brittany's position in the region.
Geoffrey married Constance of Brittany, which helped solidify his claim to the duchy. He had two children, including Arthur of Brittany, who later became a significant figure in the conflict between the English crown and the French monarchy. Geoffrey II died in 1186, leaving a lasting legacy in Brittany.
