Generalitat
The term "Generalitat" refers to the governing body of certain autonomous communities in Spain, most notably Catalonia and Valencia. It is responsible for managing regional affairs, including education, health, and transportation, and operates under the framework of the Spanish Constitution.
Each Generalitat has its own parliament and president, allowing for a degree of self-governance. The Generalitat of Catalonia, for example, has been a focal point for discussions about independence and regional identity, while the Generalitat Valenciana focuses on local issues and development within Valencia.
