Gastroepiploic Arteries
The gastroepiploic arteries are blood vessels that supply the stomach and the greater omentum, a fold of peritoneum extending from the stomach. There are two main branches: the right gastroepiploic artery, which arises from the gastroduodenal artery, and the left gastroepiploic artery, which comes from the splenic artery.
These arteries play a crucial role in providing oxygenated blood to the stomach's outer layer and surrounding tissues. They help maintain the health of the stomach and support its functions, including digestion and nutrient absorption.
