Gas Lamps
Gas lamps are lighting devices that use gas, typically natural gas or coal gas, to produce light. They consist of a glass globe that encases a burner, where the gas is ignited. Gas lamps were widely used in the 19th and early 20th centuries before the advent of electric lighting, providing illumination for streets, homes, and public spaces.
These lamps are often associated with the Victorian era and can still be found in some historic districts and parks. While they have largely been replaced by electric lights, gas lamps are appreciated for their aesthetic appeal and nostalgic charm, often evoking a sense of history.
