Gardaí
The Gardaí, officially known as the Garda Síochána, is the national police service of Ireland. Established in 1922, it is responsible for maintaining law and order, preventing crime, and protecting the public. The Gardaí operate throughout the country, with local stations in towns and cities, and are recognized for their distinctive uniforms and community-focused approach.
Members of the Gardaí are known as Garda (singular) or Gardaí (plural) and are sworn officers with various ranks. They have a wide range of duties, including traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, and public safety initiatives. The Gardaí also work closely with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to enhance safety and security.
