Gallbladder Disorders
Gallbladder disorders refer to a range of conditions affecting the gallbladder, a small organ located beneath the liver that stores bile. Common disorders include gallstones, which are hardened deposits that can block bile flow, and cholecystitis, an inflammation of the gallbladder often caused by gallstones. Symptoms may include abdominal pain, nausea, and digestive issues.
Other gallbladder disorders include biliary colic, characterized by intense pain due to gallstone movement, and gallbladder cancer, a rare but serious condition. Diagnosis typically involves imaging tests like ultrasound or CT scans, and treatment options may range from dietary changes to surgical removal of the gallbladder.
