The Galápagos Penguin is a small species of penguin found exclusively in the Galápagos Islands, located off the coast of Ecuador. It is the only penguin species that lives north of the equator. These penguins are characterized by their black and white plumage, with a distinctive band of white feathers that runs around their necks.
Galápagos Penguins typically measure about 18 to 19 inches in height and weigh between 4.5 to 6.5 pounds. They primarily feed on small fish and crustaceans, diving underwater to catch their prey. Their population is vulnerable due to threats such as climate change and habitat loss.
