Gag (Choke)
A gag, or choke, occurs when an object becomes lodged in the throat, blocking the airway. This can happen with food, toys, or other small items, leading to difficulty breathing, coughing, or inability to speak. It is a serious situation that requires immediate attention to prevent suffocation.
To help someone who is gagging, the Heimlich maneuver can be performed. This involves applying pressure to the abdomen to expel the object. If the person becomes unconscious, calling emergency services is crucial, and CPR may be necessary until help arrives.
