G1 Phase
The G1 Phase, or Gap 1 Phase, is the first stage of the cell cycle that occurs after a cell divides. During this phase, the cell grows in size, synthesizes proteins, and produces organelles. It prepares for DNA replication by accumulating the necessary resources and energy.
Cells in the G1 Phase also assess their environment to determine if conditions are favorable for division. If conditions are not suitable, the cell may enter a resting state called G0 Phase. This phase is crucial for ensuring that the cell is ready for the next stage, S Phase, where DNA replication occurs.
