G0 Phase
The G0 Phase is a stage in the cell cycle where cells exit the active cycle of division. During this phase, cells are in a resting state and do not prepare to divide. They may remain in this phase for an extended period, depending on the cell type and environmental conditions.
Cells in the G0 Phase can still perform their normal functions, such as metabolism and maintenance. Some cells, like neurons and muscle cells, may remain in G0 permanently, while others can re-enter the cell cycle when conditions are favorable, transitioning back to the G1 Phase to begin dividing again.
