Futunan
Futunan is a Polynesian language spoken primarily in Futuna, an island in the Wallis and Futuna territory of France. It is one of the two main languages of the region, the other being Wallisian. Futunan is part of the larger Austronesian language family and is used by the local population for daily communication and cultural expression.
The language has several dialects, reflecting the different communities on the island. Futunan is characterized by its unique phonetic and grammatical features, which distinguish it from other Polynesian languages. Efforts are being made to preserve and promote the language, especially among younger generations.
