The Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam is a standardized test designed for recent graduates and students nearing the completion of an undergraduate engineering degree. It assesses knowledge in various engineering disciplines, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering. Passing the FE Exam is often the first step toward becoming a licensed professional engineer.
The exam consists of 110 multiple-choice questions and is administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES). It covers topics such as mathematics, engineering sciences, and ethics. Successful candidates receive an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification, which is a prerequisite for obtaining a professional engineering license.
