Engineer-in-Training (EIT)
An Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is an individual who has completed a degree in engineering and passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. This designation is a crucial step for aspiring professional engineers, as it signifies that they have a foundational understanding of engineering principles and practices.
EITs typically work under the supervision of licensed Professional Engineers (PE) to gain practical experience in their field. After accumulating the required work experience, they can take the Principles and Practice of Engineering (PE) exam to become licensed professional engineers, allowing them to take on more responsibilities and lead engineering projects.
