Fulacht Fiadh
A Fulacht Fiadh is an ancient cooking site found primarily in Ireland, dating back to the Bronze Age. It typically consists of a rectangular or oval-shaped pit filled with water, where hot stones were added to cook food. This method allowed for the preparation of meat and other items without the need for traditional cooking vessels.
These sites are often associated with prehistoric communities and are believed to have been used for communal feasting or food preparation. Archaeological evidence suggests that Fulacht Fiadh were significant in the social and cultural practices of early Irish societies.
