Front National
The Front National (FN), now known as Rassemblement National, is a far-right political party in France. Founded in 1972 by Jean-Marie Le Pen, the party has focused on issues such as immigration, national identity, and law and order. Over the years, it has gained significant support, particularly in regions facing economic challenges.
In 2011, Marine Le Pen, daughter of Jean-Marie, took over the leadership and sought to soften the party's image. Under her leadership, the FN aimed to broaden its appeal and distance itself from its controversial past. The party has participated in various elections, including the presidential and parliamentary elections, becoming a prominent force in French politics.
