Frito Company
The Frito Company is a snack food manufacturer best known for its corn chips, particularly the popular Fritos brand. Founded in 1932 by Charles Elmer Doolin in San Antonio, Texas, the company quickly gained popularity for its unique, crunchy snacks. Frito's success led to the expansion of its product line, including various flavors and other snack items.
In 1961, the Frito Company merged with the H. W. Lay Company, forming the Frito-Lay division of PepsiCo. Today, Frito-Lay is one of the largest snack food companies in the world, offering a wide range of products that include chips, pretzels, and popcorn, catering to diverse consumer tastes.
