Frisian languages
The Frisian languages are a group of West Germanic languages spoken primarily in the Friesland region of the Netherlands and parts of Germany. They are closely related to English and Dutch, sharing many linguistic features. The three main varieties are West Frisian, North Frisian, and Saterland Frisian, each with its own unique characteristics and dialects.
Frisian languages are recognized as minority languages in their respective regions, with West Frisian being the most widely spoken. Efforts are ongoing to promote and preserve these languages through education and cultural initiatives, ensuring their survival for future generations.
