Frisian Language
The Frisian language is a group of West Germanic languages spoken primarily in the Friesland region of the Netherlands and in parts of Germany. It is closely related to English and Dutch, sharing many linguistic features. Frisian has several dialects, including West Frisian, North Frisian, and Saterland Frisian, each with its own unique characteristics.
Frisian is recognized as a minority language in the Netherlands, where it has official status alongside Dutch. Efforts to promote and preserve the language include education in schools and media broadcasts, helping to maintain its cultural significance in the region.
