Freudian slip
A "Freudian slip" is a term used in psychology to describe an unintentional error in speech, memory, or action that is believed to reveal a person's subconscious thoughts or feelings. The concept is named after Sigmund Freud, the founder of psychoanalysis, who suggested that these slips can provide insight into a person's hidden desires or anxieties.
For example, if someone accidentally calls their partner by an ex's name, it might indicate unresolved feelings about that past relationship. Freudian slips can occur in everyday conversation and are often seen as a window into the complexities of human psychology and the influence of the unconscious mind.
