Franz Xaver Kappus
Franz Xaver Kappus was an Austrian poet and writer, born on March 24, 1883, in Vienna. He is best known for his correspondence with the famous German poet Rainer Maria Rilke, which began when Kappus was a student. Their letters explored themes of art, creativity, and the struggles of being a writer.
Kappus published several works, including poetry and essays, but he is often remembered for his role in promoting Rilke's ideas. He also served in the military during World War I, which influenced his later writings. Kappus passed away on January 18, 1966.
