Francis II, Holy Roman Emperor
Francis II was the last Holy Roman Emperor, reigning from 1792 until the dissolution of the empire in 1806. He was born on February 12, 1768, and was a member of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine. His reign was marked by the challenges posed by the French Revolution and the rise of Napoleon Bonaparte, which ultimately led to the end of the Holy Roman Empire.
After the dissolution of the empire, Francis II became Francis I, Emperor of Austria and focused on consolidating his power in the newly formed Austrian Empire. He ruled until his death on March 2, 1835, and his legacy includes efforts to maintain stability in a rapidly changing Europe.
