Francis Crozier
Francis Crozier was an Irish naval officer and explorer born in 1796. He is best known for his role as second-in-command on the ill-fated Franklin Expedition, which aimed to navigate the Northwest Passage in the Arctic. Crozier was a skilled navigator and had previously served in various naval capacities, including on the HMS Terror.
During the expedition, Crozier took command after the death of John Franklin, the expedition leader. Despite his efforts to lead the remaining crew to safety, they faced harsh conditions and dwindling supplies. Crozier's fate remains uncertain, but he is remembered for his contributions to Arctic exploration.
