Fort Bridger
Fort Bridger was a historic military outpost located in present-day Wyoming. Established in 1843 by Jim Bridger, it served as a vital supply station for westward travelers, including those on the Oregon Trail and the California Trail. The fort played a significant role during the westward expansion of the United States.
In 1858, the U.S. Army officially took control of Fort Bridger, enhancing its importance during the Indian Wars. The fort was eventually abandoned in 1890, but it remains a popular historical site today, showcasing artifacts and structures from its operational period.
