Fornax Dwarf Galaxy
The Fornax Dwarf Galaxy is a small, irregular galaxy located about 400,000 light-years from Earth. It is part of the Local Group of galaxies and is one of the closest galaxies to our Milky Way. Discovered in 1938, Fornax is composed mainly of older stars and contains several globular clusters.
This galaxy has a diameter of approximately 4,000 light-years and is estimated to contain around 10 million stars. The Fornax Dwarf is also notable for its low surface brightness, making it challenging to observe. It is thought to have formed through interactions with larger galaxies, including the Milky Way.
