Formosat-5
Formosat-5 is an Earth observation satellite launched by National Space Organization (NSPO) of Taiwan on August 24, 2016. It is designed to capture high-resolution images of the Earth's surface, providing valuable data for various applications such as agriculture, forestry, and urban planning.
The satellite operates in a sun-synchronous orbit, allowing it to consistently observe the same areas at similar times. Equipped with a panchromatic camera, Formosat-5 can capture images with a resolution of up to 2 meters, making it a vital tool for monitoring environmental changes and supporting disaster management efforts.
