Follicular Unit Transplantation
Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUT) is a hair restoration technique that involves removing a strip of skin from the back of the scalp, where hair is typically denser. This strip is then divided into smaller units, each containing one to four hair follicles. These follicular units are carefully transplanted into areas of thinning or balding hair.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and usually takes several hours. After the transplant, patients may experience some swelling and discomfort, but recovery typically allows for a return to normal activities within a week. Results can be seen within a few months as new hair begins to grow.
