Follicular Carcinoma
Follicular Carcinoma is a type of thyroid cancer that arises from the follicular cells of the thyroid gland. It is the second most common form of thyroid cancer, accounting for about 10-15% of cases. This cancer typically grows slowly and may spread to nearby lymph nodes or distant organs, such as the lungs and bones.
Diagnosis often involves imaging tests like ultrasound and a biopsy to confirm the presence of cancerous cells. Treatment usually includes surgery to remove the affected thyroid tissue, and in some cases, radioactive iodine therapy may be recommended to eliminate remaining cancer cells.
