Focusing
Focusing is a psychological technique developed by Eugene Gendlin that helps individuals connect with their inner feelings and bodily sensations. It involves paying attention to the subtle, often unspoken feelings that arise in the body, allowing a person to gain insight into their emotional state and experiences. This process can lead to greater self-awareness and clarity in decision-making.
The Focusing process typically includes six steps: clearing a space, identifying a felt sense, finding a handle, resonating, asking, and receiving. By engaging in these steps, individuals can explore their emotions more deeply, leading to personal growth and improved mental well-being.
