Flying Boat
A flying boat is a type of aircraft designed to take off and land on water. Unlike traditional airplanes, which require runways, flying boats have hulls that allow them to float on water. They are equipped with wings and engines, enabling them to fly like other aircraft.
Flying boats were popular in the early to mid-20th century for long-distance travel and military operations. Notable examples include the Catalina PBY and the Dornier Do X. Although they have largely been replaced by seaplanes and amphibious aircraft, flying boats remain an important part of aviation history.
