Flavivirus
Flavivirus is a genus of viruses known to cause various diseases in humans and animals. These viruses are primarily transmitted through the bites of infected mosquitoes and ticks. Some well-known members of this genus include Dengue virus, Zika virus, and West Nile virus, which can lead to serious health issues.
Flaviviruses are single-stranded RNA viruses and are characterized by their spherical shape. They replicate within host cells and can cause a range of symptoms, from mild fever to severe neurological disorders. Vaccines are available for some flavivirus infections, such as Yellow fever, helping to prevent outbreaks and protect public health.
