Flammekueche
Flammekueche, also known as Tarte Flambée, is a traditional dish from the Alsace region of France. It consists of a thin, crispy crust topped with a mixture of crème fraîche, onions, and lardons (small strips of bacon). The dish is baked in a hot oven, giving it a distinctive flavor and texture.
Originally a farmer's meal, Flammekueche was made to test the heat of the oven before baking bread. Today, it is popular in many parts of Europe and is often served in restaurants and at festivals, where it can be enjoyed with various toppings, including cheese and vegetables.
