First Republic of Armenia
The First Republic of Armenia was established on May 28, 1918, following the collapse of the Russian Empire. It marked the first time in centuries that Armenians had an independent state. The republic faced numerous challenges, including territorial disputes and economic difficulties, but it aimed to create a democratic government and promote national identity.
The republic lasted until 1920 when it was invaded by the Soviet Red Army. Despite its short existence, the First Republic of Armenia laid the groundwork for future Armenian statehood and is remembered as a significant moment in Armenian history.
