Fielding Percentage
Fielding Percentage is a statistic used in baseball to measure a player's or team's defensive performance. It is calculated by dividing the number of successful plays (putouts and assists) by the total number of chances (putouts, assists, and errors). A higher percentage indicates better fielding ability, as it shows fewer mistakes.
For example, if a player has 100 chances and makes 90 successful plays, their Fielding Percentage would be 0.900. This means they successfully handled 90% of the opportunities they had. Coaches and analysts often use this statistic to evaluate defensive skills and make strategic decisions.
