Slugging Percentage
Slugging Percentage is a baseball statistic that measures a player's power-hitting ability. It calculates the total number of bases a player records per at-bat, providing insight into how effectively a player can hit for extra bases, such as doubles, triples, and home runs.
To compute Slugging Percentage, you divide the total number of bases earned by the number of at-bats. For example, a player who hits a single (1 base), a double (2 bases), and a home run (4 bases) in 10 at-bats would have a slugging percentage of 0.700, indicating strong power-hitting skills.
