Fernando II of León
Fernando II of León was a king who ruled from 1157 to 1188. He was born in 1137 and was the son of Alfonso VII of León and Castile. Fernando II is known for his efforts to consolidate the kingdom of León and expand its territory, particularly through military campaigns against the Moors in the south.
During his reign, Fernando II also focused on strengthening the power of the monarchy and improving the administration of his kingdom. He was a patron of the church and supported the establishment of monasteries, which played a significant role in the cultural and religious life of León.
