Ferguson Commission
The Ferguson Commission was established in 2014 in response to the unrest following the shooting of Michael Brown, an unarmed Black teenager, by a police officer in Ferguson, Missouri. The commission aimed to investigate the underlying issues of racial inequality and police practices in the community.
In 2015, the commission released a report outlining its findings and recommendations for reform. It highlighted systemic issues such as racial profiling, lack of accountability in law enforcement, and the need for community engagement. The report aimed to foster dialogue and promote changes to improve relations between the police and the community.
