Felix Houphouet-Boigny
Félix Houphouët-Boigny was a prominent Ivorian politician and the first President of Ivory Coast. Born on October 18, 1905, he played a significant role in the country's independence from France in 1960. Houphouët-Boigny was known for his efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, earning him the nickname "the Sage of Africa."
He served as president from 1960 until his death in 1993, making him one of the longest-serving leaders in Africa. His administration focused on economic development and agricultural modernization, which helped transform Ivory Coast into one of the continent's leading economies during his tenure.
