Fabergé eggs
Fabergé eggs are exquisite, decorative eggs created by the Russian jeweler Peter Carl Fabergé in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Originally made for the Russian royal family, these eggs are known for their intricate designs and luxurious materials, often featuring precious metals and gemstones. Each egg typically contains a surprise, such as a miniature figure or a smaller egg.
The most famous of these eggs were produced for Tsar Alexander III and later for his son, Tsar Nicholas II. A total of 50 imperial eggs were made, with many now housed in museums and private collections around the world. Fabergé eggs are celebrated as masterpieces of craftsmanship and artistry.
