External Iliac Vein
The External Iliac Vein is a major blood vessel located in the pelvis. It is responsible for draining deoxygenated blood from the lower limbs and pelvic region. This vein runs alongside the External Iliac Artery, which supplies oxygenated blood to the same areas.
Once the External Iliac Vein collects blood from the leg through the Femoral Vein, it eventually merges with the Internal Iliac Vein to form the Common Iliac Vein. This structure plays a crucial role in the venous return system, ensuring that blood is efficiently transported back to the heart.
