External Genitalia
External genitalia refers to the reproductive organs located outside the body. In males, this includes the penis and scrotum, which houses the testes. The penis is used for urination and sexual intercourse, while the scrotum helps regulate the temperature of the testes for sperm production.
In females, external genitalia consist of the vulva, which includes the labia majora, labia minora, clitoris, and the vaginal opening. The vulva serves multiple functions, including protection of internal reproductive organs, sexual arousal, and facilitating childbirth. Both male and female external genitalia play crucial roles in reproduction and sexual health.
