Male Genitalia
Male genitalia primarily consist of the penis and scrotum. The penis is the external organ responsible for sexual intercourse and urination. It contains erectile tissue that can fill with blood, allowing for an erection. The scrotum is a pouch of skin that holds the testes, which produce sperm and hormones like testosterone.
The testes are located outside the body in the scrotum to maintain a temperature slightly lower than the body's core temperature, which is essential for sperm production. The male reproductive system also includes the vas deferens, seminal vesicles, and prostate gland, which contribute to the transport and nourishment of sperm.
