Exercise-Induced Asthma
Exercise-Induced Asthma (EIA) is a condition where physical activity triggers asthma symptoms, such as wheezing, coughing, and shortness of breath. It occurs when the airways become inflamed and narrowed during or after exercise, particularly in cold or dry air.
EIA can affect individuals with a history of asthma or those without prior respiratory issues. Symptoms typically appear within a few minutes of starting exercise and may last for up to 30 minutes after stopping. Managing EIA often involves using inhalers or medications before exercise and choosing appropriate activities to minimize symptoms.
