Evasion (Avoidance)
Evasion, also known as avoidance, refers to a psychological defense mechanism where an individual consciously or unconsciously avoids confronting uncomfortable thoughts, feelings, or situations. This behavior can manifest in various ways, such as procrastination, denial, or distraction, allowing the person to temporarily escape stress or anxiety.
In social contexts, evasion may involve avoiding difficult conversations or situations that could lead to conflict. While it can provide short-term relief, persistent avoidance can hinder personal growth and problem-solving, potentially leading to increased stress or unresolved issues over time.
