European Data Protection Board (EDPB)
The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) is an independent European body that ensures consistent application of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) across the European Union. Established in 2018, it provides guidance and advice on data protection issues, helping to harmonize practices among member states.
The EDPB is composed of representatives from each EU member state's data protection authority, as well as the European Data Protection Supervisor (EDPS). It plays a crucial role in fostering cooperation between national authorities and addressing cross-border data protection matters, ensuring that individuals' privacy rights are upheld throughout the EU.
