Eurasian avocet
The Eurasian avocet is a wading bird known for its striking black and white plumage and long, upward-curved bill. It typically inhabits shallow wetlands, mudflats, and coastal areas across Europe and Asia. This bird is often seen foraging in water, using its bill to sweep through the mud to catch small invertebrates.
During the breeding season, the Eurasian avocet builds its nest on the ground, usually in colonies. The female lays about three to four eggs, which both parents help to incubate. These birds are also known for their distinctive courtship displays, which include synchronized movements and vocalizations.
