Eurasian Wigeon
The Eurasian Wigeon is a medium-sized duck found across Europe and Asia. It is known for its distinctive features, including a rounded head and a broad, flat bill. Males have a striking chestnut-colored head with a creamy crown, while females are mottled brown, providing excellent camouflage.
These ducks prefer freshwater habitats such as lakes, rivers, and marshes. They primarily feed on aquatic plants, seeds, and grasses. During migration, the Eurasian Wigeon travels to warmer regions, often joining other waterfowl species like the Northern Pintail and Gadwall in search of food and suitable breeding grounds.
